General Information
NPACF Anchorage Municipal Elections Toolkit
The Anchorage municipal elections are taking place this year on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022! These elections will be Vote-at-Home elections, meaning traditional polling places will not be open on election day. Voters should therefore prepare to receive their ballots in the mail at the address where they are registered to vote. Make sure to check your voter registration address to ensure that you receive your ballot!
For this election, eligible voters will be asked to vote for their desired Assemblymember, School Board Members, and Service Area Board Member(s), in addition to 9 Ballot Propositions.
Ballot packages will be mailed to all eligible voters at their stated address no later than 21 days before election day. Voters will then mark their ballots, place them in the secrecy envelope provided, and return them either to a secure dropbox, a vote center, or via USPS mail.
Please note that Ballot Measure 2, and the implementation of ranked choice voting, does not apply to local or municipal elections. This means that there will be no ranking for the 2022 Anchorage Municipal Election. Ballots will look similar to previous city elections. Examples can be found on the Municipal Elections Page, here.
Review your voter registration in the state database at myvoterinformation.alaska.gov.

This means that all eligible individuals are registered to vote when they register for the Permanent Fund Dividend. However, if you have not registered for the PFD since 2016, or if you moved out of state, you will need to re-register to vote. There are three ways to do so: Online, via mail, or in person.
